FNV Project implementation activities
After summer holidays, September was full of preparative and concrete work, organising activities and having close contacts with teachers and pupils involved in working groups, seminars and other activities, planned in the framework of the Project FSASH and SPASH are implementing in collaboration with Dutch trade union FNV.
Meetings with teachers and pupils from 4 districts and 16 schools
Effective meetings were organised with ChL working groups in Korca and Tirana, including pilot schools in these districts., Participating also both chairmen, Dobrushi and Kruja, during these meetings were met more than 80 teachers and pupils, in 8 schools. Teachers reported that, based on the problems raised in questionnaires filled in before summer holidays, they are working with the respective pupils in their schools and will continue to work, not only in the schools, but also outside the schools, with parents and other stakeholders engaged in child labour prevention and elimination.
Similar meetings are going to be organised in Durres on the 2nd of October and in Fieri on the 4th of October.

Three days seminar with local trade union leaders
After a concrete preparative work, a three days seminar, (on 26, 27 and 28 September), was organised with participation of local trade union leaders from 10 districts where FSASH and SPASH are working, in the framework of the Project, aiming their further consolidation. 25 participants took part in that seminar, which was considered very important, not only for training, but also as an event where concrete discussions and debates were made regarding the actual situation, problems faced, role of the central structures of both trade unions and so on.
Both chairmen of FSASH and SPASH, Dobrushi and Kruja, present in the seminar, expressed their opinions about the topics and problems raised by the participants, especially regarding some unfair attitudes of educational directorates towards teachers graduated in pedagogical secondary schools

Inquiry on special work with teachers women in the trade union
Following previous activities, concrete work started to realise the inquiry about the role of women committees, already established in 26 districts, aiming to contact more that 650 teachers women in 65 schools from 13 districts. The first meeting with 14 women, responsible for the working groups, was held in Tirana, on the 25th of September, where we distributed the questionnaires and discussed about the content, the methodology and other arrangements related to the inquiry.
This topic will also be subject of the seminar planned to be organised with women local trade union leaders, from the same districts, by the end of October, (25, 26, 27 October), with participation of AOb expert.
Workshop with other branch trade unions
Special attention is being paid to the engagement of other branch trade unions in child labour prevention and elimination activities. After some contacts with the representatives of both confederations, KSSH and BSPSH, an important workshop, is being prepared to be organised in Tirana, on the 5th of October, with participation of the main leaders of some branch trade unions from both confederations, especially those from Textile, Garment and shoes industry, agriculture, construction, commerce, transport, health care, as well as some representatives from KSSH/BSPSH local structures, districts trade union councils from Tirana, Fieri, Elbasani, Korca, Durresi where FSASH and SPASH are focused with activities in child labour elimination.
Elaboration of a working plan will be one of the most important aims of this workshop, following our previous activities, organised in collaboration with ITUC, ILO-IPEC and other institutions here in Albania.

Last issue of the Magazine “Tribuna Sindikale”
Very important is the last issue of the Magazine “Tribuna Sindikale”, where are published the problems discussed in the meeting that both chairmen of FSASH/SPASH had with the Minister of Education and Science, as well as issues related to the wage increase, role of the trade unions for qualitative education during the new school year 2007-2008, reaction of the leading bodies of FSASH and SPASH towards illegitimate action of expelling them from their offices in Tirana, and so on. Requested by many teachers, the Collective Agreement is republished in the last issue of the Magazine.
